This project was probably the most fulfilling project I've worked on in Multimedia, considering I was finally able to use my unique skill set to promote my families' party rental business. I approached my Dad with the idea of doing a promotional video dozens of times beforehand, but unfortunately he didn't have the time or resources to invest in the project. When I started taking this class though, I approached him again and told him that numerous people would be at our disposal to help out with the project in class, cutting any costs associated with the project. After that, there was no way he could say no.
When I pitched the idea to the class, everyone was very excited until they realized it was a half an hour drive to get to the store. Luckily, 3 brave souls managed to dedicate some additional time after school to helping me film the project: Ryan G., Shivani K., and Nathan V.
For this project, my 2 main areas of focus were lighting and sound. One of the great things about this project was the fact we got to experience filming on-location both indoors and outdoors, which forced us to use different techniques to ensure scenes were properly lit. Another great opportunity was being able to work with actors (even some kid actors) in order to perfect the atmosphere of the scene for the video. In the end, this project was a huge success and a definite improvement in sound over the AVID promo (considering we actually had uniform voiceover audio throughout the production process).
