My Bio
My name is Mitchell Dean Baubonis (Mitch B). I'm a professional media producer, editor, and cinematographer with over 8 years of experience creating video content for brands both big and small across social media and live entertainment venues.
I got my start with media production in high school and quickly learned I had a talent and passion for creating powerful media campaigns online via my own YouTube channel and those in my local community. Even though I didn't have the best equipment, I still loved learning how to tailor my workflow to get the most production value out of the limited resources I had by learning industry standard software such as the Adobe Creative Suite, Cinema 4D, Element 3D, and DaVinci Resolve.
As I transitioned to college at the University of Minnesota, I invested further into my passion in media by taking on a job opportunity with Gopher Digital Productions as a Student Producer and Editor. There I was able to learn how to utilize greater resources and media access and couple it with my efficient workflow to produce high end cinematic content for a high profile brand audience. As I got more involved with learning how to use these types of advanced production equipment and software, I became a lot more ambitious and was able to rise from serving as a student utility and camera operator on the sidelines to working as lead editor in the main control room for the Minnesota Gopher Football and Basketball games. With more experience I was also given the opportunity to take the lead on many high profile projects across multiple Gopher Sports Teams cinematic content, including several team intro videos and TV promotions.
In early 2018 I won the Midwest Student Emmy Crystal Pillar Award for the content I produced for the Minnesota Gophers that year. After the experience I had gained working under and learning from several senior producers I accepted an internship working for Elite Edge Productions later that year. There I had the amazing opportunity to work as a production assistant and assistant editor for several contracts from professional sports organizations including the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia Phillies, and FOX Sports North.
In 2019 I was able to work courtside as an editor and cinematographer at the Final Four in Minneapolis for the NCAA social media team. Later that same year I did special coverage of College Gameday's first ever visit to the University of Minnesota Campus while also co-editing several football trailers for the Gopher Football Team that year.
Over the course of my career I have gained experience working in professional live TV and venue production control rooms at TCF Bank Stadium and Big Ten Network, in addition to high end cinematic social media production for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. I have extensive knowledge and talent working with both high end production cinema cameras such as the Sony FS7 and FS700, as well as consumer grade DSLRs like the Black Magic Pocket Cinema and Panasonic Lumix GH5. I've also got a significant amount of experience piloting professional drones such as the DJI Mavic 2 in both rural and heavy urban settings to get amazing aerial footage that adds tremendous amounts of production value to the projects I create. I've also gained experience working freelance for smaller brands such as Slackerz' Galactic Battlegrounds, Fun Events Inc, and private weddings. Throughout every project I work on, I always maximize every minute of workflow to get the greatest amount of production value to take every project to the next level of innovation, no matter how big or small the audience is.
